Authority was founded in 2005 and we've been expanding ever since.

You can now get a four man, highly experienced editorial team running your web platforms for considerably less than the cost of even the most junior staffer.

We've worked with some of the biggest names and brands in the music business, including Morrissey, Christina Aguilera, Scissor Sisters, Black Eyed Peas, Elbow, Yusuf Islam, Pixie Lott, Mika, Duffy, Florence & The Machine, Paul Weller, Bon Jovi and many others.

David Collyer

After graduating from the London College of Printing, David was a music journalist for ten years between 1995 and 2005. Most of this time was spent as a web editor at Capital Radio and London Indie Station Xfm, pioneering several then-groundbreaking developments such as offering music for download over the internet and e-mailing people in large numbers.

David founded Authority in 2005 in order to continue to combine his love of music and writing. Today, he continues to sort of be in charge.

Merek Cooper

Obsessed with music from an early age, in 2002 Merek immersed himself in the North American college radio scene, eventually becoming editor of CiTR Vancouver's monthly music magazine Discorder. Returning to London in 2005, he became Reviews Editor for Plan B Magazine, a contributing writer for music website PlayLouder and started his own podcast, Sleephouse Radio.

Merek joined Authority in 2007, bringing with him a near sociopathic attention to detail and fearsome work ethic.

Alex Narkiewicz

Alex studied English at the University of Exeter and went on to do an MA in Professional Writing at University College Falmouth. He has worked in PR, blogging and copywriting. He once spent half a year as an EFL teacher in the Czech Republic and is the former editor of Playlouder.com.

Alex joined Authority in 2008, and now manages our diverse spectrum of comment boards, forums, communities and fanclubs.

Dan Melia

After gaining a degree in journalism from the University of Lincoln, Dan honed his skills as a freelance reviewer before taking a staff position at Gigwise in 2005. Starting off as a lowly intern he later became New Bands Editor before taking on the role of Assistant Editor and steering the site to its most successful period.

Our newest addition, Dan joined Authority in June 2009 as Web Editor.
